Keith Richards
Keith Richards (* 18. Dezember 1943 in Dartford, Grafschaft Kent, Vereinigtes Königreich) ist ein britischer Musiker und Songwriter.
Richards ist Gründungsmitglied der seit 1962 bestehenden britischen Bluesrock-Band The Rolling Stones und gehört der Formation seither ununterbrochen als Rhythmus- und Leadgitarrist an. Seine Riffs und Licks sind prägend für den Sound der Rolling Stones, gelegentlich tritt er auch als Sänger der Band, als Solist, als E-Bassist und in anderen Formationen in Erscheinung. Richards schreibt gemeinsam mit Frontmann Mick Jagger – gelegentlich auch unter den Pseudonymen Nanker Phelge oder The Glimmer Twins – einen Großteil der Songs. Seit 1993 gehört das Autorenduo Jagger/Richards der Songwriters Hall of Fame an.
Die Musikzeitschrift Rolling Stone platzierte Richards („The Human Riff“) auf dem vierten Platz der Liste der 100 größten Gitarristen. Als Mitglied der Rolling Stones ist Richards auch Teil der Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
